How to Find a Song from an Audio or Video File (MP3, MP4, MOV)

Identify the song in an MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV or WebM file. Upload it to FindTunes, pick the clearest part, and get the song name in seconds.

Open the song finder

Upload the file

Open FindTunes, tap Upload and pick the file from your phone or computer. Video files (MP4, MOV, WebM) and screen recordings work. FindTunes pulls the audio out and checks it.

Pick the right moment

Turn on Trim and choose the part where the song is loudest, with as little talking as possible. Ten to twenty seconds is plenty.

If it does not match

Try a different section, especially the chorus. Live recordings, heavy remixes and songs that are not released yet may not be in the catalog.
